FPC (Unicode PAC) format

The FPC format (Screen Unicode Pac format, file extension .fpc) is a Unicode-capable variant of the Screen PAC subtitle format.

While the standard PAC format uses legacy character encodings, the FPC format stores subtitle text in Unicode, making it suitable for all languages and character sets including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hebrew, Thai, and other non-Latin scripts.

Sub Machine reads and writes FPC files natively. FPC files can be opened and saved just like PAC files.

When to use FPC instead of PAC:

•When working with non-Latin character sets

•When subtitles contain mixed-language text

•When character encoding issues arise with standard PAC files
